Every Easter when I was growing up my Oma would make loaves of paska- a traditional sweet lemon egg bread glazed in icing and sprinkles, made at springtime, and adored by Mennonite communities (the sprinkles are traditional? I guess?). Looking at the commonalities between the recipes, I'm guessing that paska and challah at some point shared a common ancestor (or paska was adopted from challah). And so, given that today marks both the beginning of Passover, and Good Friday, I combined the recipes in tribute to both. Challah with citrus zest and juice, honey glazed with those irresistible sprinkles. Shabbat shalom, friends. . . . #goodfriday #easter #pesach #passover #challah #mennonite #paska #kitchenexperiments
